Impending Merger of RI & RJC

there was this article in the newspaper a few days back regarding plans to merge RI & RJC, after all, they're running the IP now, and the separation seems rather superficial since most do go on into RJC after Sec4..

Hhmmm. Correct me if i'm wrong, but if i don't recall my RI history wrongly, RI initially started off with a 6 year course that included pre-university, i.e. current day JC standard. So it seems we're back at square 1.

Well, rather mixed feelings about the merger plans. RI days, especially Sec 3, were by far the most memorable parts of my education so far.. Cos we were free from stress compared to other years? Partially. I think it had to do more with the company. =)

Somehow RJC days just seem a little detached, maybe cos of the loom and gloom of impending A's and the mad rush to polish whatever resume up for university applications, which somehow, on hindsight, seem a little ... silly.

Anyway, maybe with the merger, students will have more time to pursue other interests, and actually enjoy their school days without too much stress.. though from feedback from the ground, it seems that the current J1 students under the IP are feeling more heat now, cos there's only the A's for them - its make or break based on 1 paper. Crunch time.
