Pysch Med Posting...

It's almost coming to the end of my Psychiatry Medicine posting in NUH.. I must say that this has been one of the more enjoyable postings (well, dun suppose i can really compare, since this is only my 3rd posting O_O), in that things are really pretty interesting and fun (not that other postings are not interesting and fun!)

You meet really interesting people who regale you with stories, sadly reflecting that they need help; and then you meet the other spectrum of patients who come in with various tragic backgrounds who also need your help.. I do think that you need to be a real paradigm of virtue and be a bottomless vessel of emotions to be in Psych Med. But then again, that's wat empathy is about rite? To be able to understand the patient, but not get too emotionally involved in their lives that it affects our own functioning when we see other patients with their individual problems.

Test on Thursday.. Don't know if it's a blessing or a curse, but both MCQs and clinical tests are on thurs morn.. I suppose i get the afternoon off and Friday to relax before the next posting.. But.. Oh well.
