19th - 20th June, Thursday - Friday: LA - Tokyo - Singapore!

Day 20 - Day 21
So after our overnight trip on the Greyhound, Ricardo, Sirui and I found ourselves back in Los Angeles at the unearthly hour of 4am.. And so its here that we parted our ways - Sirui, on to San Diego for another 1.5 days of travelling; whilst Ricardo and I were heading to the airport, Ricardo to his next destination, and me for home..

A short bus trip, train transfer, and a airport shuttle bus later, I found myself in the LAX international airport. Upon checking in, I found history starting to repeat itself - despite being 6 hours early - yes, my ticket has no confirmed seating again! -_-" Grr.. I could have thrown a fit there and then.

Since i was so darn early, went in and grabbed breakfast and some last minute gift-buying.. Good grief, I must have at least walked into every shop in the terminal at least 3 times.. and when finally it was almost time for my flight at 1pm, i headed over to the gate (which had changed over the past 6 hours) and to my pleasant surprise, actually managed to get a seat more smoothly than my first experience back in Baltimore. Phew!

Had a rather pleasant flight from LA to Tokyo Narita airport. Now, i had chosen Tokyo as my transit point cos I wanted to do some shopping.. Hehe.. Gotta love the jap okashi! =) So literally flew through the check-in procedure again to the duty free shop to grab the okashi! and headed over to my gate, to find that my flight has been brought forward by half an hour! Wah heng ah. If spent too much time shopping, might have missed my connecting flight! =P

Quite a crowded flight back to Singapore.. Had this rather big-sized Indian lady on my left, who promptly kicked off her shoes and rested them on the arm rest in front, while infringing upon my tv-remote arm rest.. Sigh.

Settled for playing with the cute Japanese baby girl on my right and chatting with her parents. =)

Food was ok.. United Airlines' food has always been pretty decent.. And i tink the service is quite ok too - partially i suppose cos they have air stewards and stewardesses who are a bit more older and more experienced. Too bad about the lousy booking policies which result in massively overbooked flights.

And Yes! Touchdown in Changi Airport Terminal 3!

Never been so happy to reach home again.. Breezed through the automated immigration process, which was empty at 11.15pm at night, and through the baggage carousel..

Stepping into the familiar warm humid air, and seeing the familiar faces of family and relatives.. Its a wonder to be home! =)

And so, my travel blog ends here on this note.. A note of thanks to all my readers who have been following me along this journey (part or whole)! And apologies for the irregular updates since school started..

Will be reverting to regular posts, with updates at least once a week! =)
