16th June, Monday – Yosemite, Las Vegas
Day 17
Another breakfast meal of Ritz and peanut butter – I think I’m officially sick and tired of peanut butter and Ritz, and don’t wanna see another one of those for at least another year.. Urgh.
As usual, due to crazy bus schedules, we woke up at 5 to rush for the 6.20am bus to Merced to catch our Amtrak transfer to Las Vegas..

You definitely know you’re in desert territory just by looking out the bus window..
But nothing could prepare us for the heat that assaulted us the moment we got off the bus in LV. Phew! Hot!
Lugged our bags to catch the shuttle bus up and down The Strip – the main stretch of road along which most of the major big casinos are situated on. Of course, we couldn’t / wouldn’t afford a room in such a fancy place, so we settled for a smaller hotel at Terribles’. Well, for the first time, I’m glad the hotel didn’t live up to its name. Heh.

The hotel room pricing in Vegas is really cheap! So cheap, that its even cheaper per person compared to all our hostels throughout America so far.. Hehe.. Guess they make money from all the casino activities..
Took the chance to explore Vegas at night!

Bally's, and Paris (that's the name of the casino) in the distance! The Eiffel tower replica is apparently supposed to be half the size of the original one in France..

The Mirage..

The Venetian!

Wah, even at night, the temperature must be at least 30 degrees celsius. So we ducked into the Venetian for some respite..

Beautiful rite? The artificial sky makes it look as bright as day! of course, nothing beats the real Venice.. =P

The Wynn! and the Encore (the 2nd tower of the Wynn)..
Headed up to Fremont Street! I remember the first time I saw this, was on the Chinese serial drama “The Unbeatables” starring Zoe Tay and Li Nanxing.. =)

Fremont St by day (taken earlier when we first arrived)..

Fremont St by night! Simply beautiful! =)
And after that, just simply strolled along the Strip, taking it all in on this toasty warm night..
