Ratatouille!

Just managed to squeeze in watching Ratatouille this busy afternoon.. and it was a simply fantastic movie! =)

As usual, Pixar's animations are flawless.. The details and thought that went into every piece of animation you see on the screen, is simply mind-boggling. Adorable Remy's fur was highlighted in full detail; the scene where Gusteau's book got soaked in the storm tunnel's rising waters, and was later flipped by Remy showed incredible detail as the edges of the pages were wet while the inner bits were dry; plus the food that went on screen were almost life-like.. all these little finer points certainly gave the movie's animation its extra edge over other similar shows out there..

The plot was good (for an animated movie anyway) and had a feel-good ending, which simply lifts your day.. And the director and scriptwriters certainly packed in sufficient laughs along every bit of the movie, such that there was barely a dull moment on screen..

The movie held its own throughout the surprisingly long (for an animated movie) almost 2 hours duration. It even resounded the health ministry's message of infection control, cleanliness and sanitation - Remy was literally washing his hands (paws) everytime he was cooking, and he even got the rest of the rats "autoclaved" in the "steam" machine before they started cooking in the kitchen! =)

An enjoyable movie outing for all age groups. No wonder it had fantastic ratings.

Simply fantabulous. =)
